The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has successfully disrupted a disturbing child exploitation operation, rescuing four underaged girls from a motel situated in Totomu village, near the border of Lagos and Ogun states.
The motel had been clandestinely engaging in abhorrent practices, exploiting these young girls for prostitution and subjecting them to grueling child labor.
On the 11th of August, at approximately 11:53 a.m., the NSCDC sprang into action, raiding the motel premises. This remarkable operation was made possible by the tireless efforts of the Corps’ Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, which acted swiftly upon receiving credible intelligence and maintaining constant surveillance.
The rescue operation proved to be successful as the NSCDC freed four victims aged between 15 and 17 years from the clutches of exploitation.
Additionally, during the raid, a female suspect was apprehended, ensuring that those responsible for these heinous crimes will face the full weight of the law.
The NSCDC remains committed to the principles of justice and unyielding protection of the vulnerable. In adherence to established protocols, both the detained suspect and the rescued victims will be transferred to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation and necessary legal actions.
In a separate endeavor on the same day, the NSCDC’s Patrol Team, entrusted with the crucial duty of safeguarding the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipelines, displayed exemplary vigilance.
Their swift response and unwavering dedication led to the prevention of an attempted act of vandalism in Idimu, Lagos. As a result, a suspect was apprehended and will soon face legal consequences once thorough investigations are concluded.
These commendable achievements serve as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the NSCDC in protecting society’s most vulnerable members from unscrupulous exploitation.
By dismantling these nefarious operations and bringing the perpetrators to justice, the NSCDC reinforces its pivotal role in maintaining law and order.
This resounding success serves as a stark reminder that cooperation between various law enforcement agencies is crucial in combatting the pervasive issue of child exploitation.
It is only through relentless efforts and effective collaborations that we can hope to eradicate these reprehensible crimes and create a safer, more secure society for all.
