The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially released the final list of successful candidates for the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, paving the way for appointments to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II).
National Public Relations Officer of the Service, Abdullahi Maiwada, announced the development in a statement issued on Monday. Successful candidates have been advised to visit the official NCS website or check designated national newspapers to confirm their status.
Next Steps and Portal Activation
According to the NCS, candidates will receive official notifications via their registered email addresses and SMS. Upon receiving the alert, successful applicants are required to log onto the designated portal using their National Identification Number (NIN) or email address.
Key directives and timelines outlined by the Service include:
- Medical Fitness Upload: The portal link for uploading valid medical certificates of fitness—obtained from a government-recognized hospital—will go live on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Candidates have exactly one week from the activation date to complete this requirement.
- Profile Updates & Acceptance: Applicants must accurately update their current state of residence on the portal and formally accept the provisional offer by clicking the “Accept Offer” button.
- Trainee ID & Documentation: Successful candidates are instructed to await their Trainee Identification Number, which will be communicated within a week. Further details regarding physical screening, venues, and documentation requirements will be announced through official channels.
Strict Compliance and Disqualification Warning
The NCS has emphasized strict adherence to the outlined instructions and deadlines. Maiwada warned that failure to comply with any of the requirements within the stipulated timeframes will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of the provisional appointment.
On behalf of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, the Comptroller-General of Customs congratulated all successful candidates, welcoming them to a career built on professionalism, integrity, and national service.
Recruitment Background
The latest milestone follows a lengthy vetting and selection process. The NCS initially commenced the recruitment drive to fill 3,927 vacancies spanning the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres.
Following the closure of the online application window in January 2025, the Service subsequently opened its portal in May 2026 for shortlisted candidates to complete final screening updates, culminating in the release of the final merit list.
