The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, has sanctioned the deployment of Olusola Odumosu as the new commandant for the corps in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. This move, as announced by NSCDC spokesperson Babawale Afolabi, is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the NSCDC’s operations in the FCT.
Olusola Odumosu is taking over the position from Peter Maigari, who will be undergoing a strategic course at the National Security Institute for the next year. The transition between the outgoing and incoming commandants is expected to be completed by August 15, 2023, according to Mr. Audi’s directive.
Ahmed Audi commended Olusola Odumosu for his unwavering dedication, professionalism, and commitment to his duties. He highlighted Odumosu’s qualities of hard work, dedication, and loyalty.
Prior to his appointment as FCT commandant, Olusola Odumosu served as the director of public relations for the NSCDC. He organized the inaugural strategic communication workshop (STRACOMM 2022) that facilitated improved service delivery and partnerships with local and international media.
In response to his new role, Odumosu pledged to uphold the vision and ideals of the Commandant General, focusing on transforming and advancing the NSCDC. He expressed his readiness to lead the FCT command by ensuring the accomplishment of NSCDC’s mandates in the Federal Capital Territory.
Olusola Odumosu is a Fellow of the National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the International Institute of Public Relations, London, UK.
Additionally, the Commandant General has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) Mr. Afolabi as the new Director of Public Relations (DPR) for the NSCDC. Mr. Audi encouraged the new spokesperson to build upon the achievements of his predecessor and make significant contributions to the NSCDC’s communication efforts.
