Holders of the Nigerian passport can currently travel to 44 destinations worldwide without needing to secure a visa prior to departure, according to the latest global passport rankings.

Data released by Henley & Partners places the Nigerian passport at 90th place globally out of 199 evaluated passports. This represents a one-position dip from the 89th spot Nigeria held in the previous quarterly index, even though the country’s overall visa-free score remained steady at 44. The index draws on statistics provided by the International Air Transport Association to measure how many global destinations can be accessed via visa-free entry, visas on arrival, or electronic visas.
